CEDRAT Actuators and mechanisms

Micromechatronics, Inc distributes CEDRAT Technologies. CEDRAT offers a wide range of standard piezoelectric actuators, consisting of conventional Multilayer Actuators (MLAs), Parallel Pre-Stressed Actuators (PPAs), Amplified PiezoActuators (APAs) and various mechanisms with this actuators already arranged. Several options are available and most of the Actuators can be modified to meet the functional properties, the mechanical or electrical interfaces.   

1)  MLAs - CEDRAT Multilayer Actuators (MLAs) are non-preloaded piezoceramics. As a consequence, they are NOT suited to high level dynamic operations. Strain gauges ca be added upon request. ave been designed in order to offer the largest possible stroke while keeping a resonable size and a long lifetime.

2)  PPAs - Use expansion of the active material, in 33-mode, for producing a useful displacement.  Since pre-stress level is better controlled, they display an improved performance behavior than a DPA, and can be operated at resonance.  The displacement is directly proportional to the voltage. 

3)  APAs - Have been designed in order to offer the largest possible stroke while keeping a resonable size and a long lifetime.

4) Mechanisms  - Starting with standard piezo actuators, several mechanism have been designed to assist in controlling several degrees of freedom.
